Psychiatric Medication

Within my scope of practice I am licensed to prescribe all psychotropic medications for psychiatric disorders including controlled substances. This includes anti-depressants, anti-anxiety, anti-psychotics, mood stabilizers, ADD/ADHD medications - including stimulant medications, addiction medications such as Chantix for smoking or Antabuse and Naltrexone for alcohol use (as three examples).

I am also knowledgeable about the use of complementary and nutritional therapies to either enhance a medication effect or as an adjunct to a medication regime. I do not recommend or make any suggestions to my patients about any medications or therapies without a solid foundation of empirical evidence that has been well researched and published in well-respected medical publications and journals.

I am licensed to prescribe psychiatric medications to any resident of AZ,VA,and FL. Please note that I only prescribe benzodiazepine type medications (such as Xanax, Ativan, Klonopin, Ambien, and Lunesta) under certain circumstances and for a very brief period of time. I do not prescribe Dexedrine and on very rare occasions, Adderall. I currently hold an active DEA # for Schedule II-V medications within the State of Virginia and Florida.
